How do I know if this is for me?We all experience all sorts of loss, from loss of a loved one or pet, to loss of a job or relationship, or even a loss of identity. Our retreat will guide you to move beyond the pain of any type of loss whether it be recent or from long ago. Often the pain of one loss is eased by processing one that occurred years prior. This process is not an alternative to therapy, but a supplement and an alternative way to integrate the lessons that come from losses in our lives. If you are feeling stuck, want to see things from a different perspective, let go and move forward then this retreat is for you. More

What if I've never done yoga? What if I am a seasoned practitioner?Whether you are new to yoga or an advanced practitioner, classes will be scaffoled and leveled for all levels of yoga practitioners. We will be a small group so all levels can be integrated. If you have any minor conditions or injuries, Jen is skilled to adjust. Please speak with her about your personal condition so she can accomodate or recommend. Most important is a willingness to work with your body in a new way and connect with yourself through the yoga practice to enhance awareness and open your heart and mind.

What kind of art will I be making and what experience do I need? There is no art experience required. The focus in this retreat is on the process of creating, which will open up new ways of seeing memories and thoughts. Ri is primarily a photographer and will be sharing basic photography and basic photoshop techniques. You will be making collages, both on and off the computer. Ri can adjust for those who are not comfortable with the computer and photoshop, and she can assist those well versed in photography and photoshop as well. You will need to bring a laptop computer and some kind of camera, whether it be your phone, ipod, digital compact or SLR camera. The important part of the art experience is your willingness to experiment with various techniques, honing in on the ones that speak to you. At the end of the retreat you will complete an original piece of art, which I will profesionally print for you as an archival giclée to take home with you to remind you of your life-changing retreat experience.

What will I gain at the end of the week?Watch Anna as she describes what she thought at the beginning of the retreat and the liberation she felt afterwards. "Strength. Grace. Empowerment. I enrolled in this class during a stressful, challenging time....I was feeling exhausted in a way I never had before and I was in need of some fierce self-care. The creativity and stretching of my limited Photoshop skills revived me, and seeing myself as eagle-woman was a non-verbal, powerful way to communicate to myself what I was going through." "I feel so much more expansion in my body and my mind. And I feel much more stable and aware in every part of my life. And my heart is more open. In my life, I am now able to see what I can control and not control. I’m a lot more at peace. I used to grip a lot in my poses and my life. I can be very stubborn. Now, I can let go and see a different perspective. My relationship with my partner is so much better!"
